Short resume:
I was born in  Salerno on June 11, 1972.

In 1997 I received the Laurea degree (cum laude) in Computer Science, from the  Faculty of  Science of  the University of  Salerno , thesis "On the Factorization Conjecture" - advisor  Prof. Clelia De Felice.
From 1997 to 2001, I was a PhD student in Computer Science at the  Department of Computer Science of the University of  Milano.  I received the PhD degree on January 2002, defending a thesis on Molecular Computing (Advisors: Prof. G. Mauri and Prof. C. De Felice). 
From 2001 to 2002, I have been assistant of the course on Algorithms at the  Dipartimento di Informatica Sistemistica e Comunicazione of the University of  Milano-Bicocca and I was/am involved in the activity of the Bioinformatics and Molecular Computing Group
From May 2002 to May 2004, I have been a Post-Doctoral Fellow on "Splicing systems and Automata Theory" at the Dipartimento di Informatica e Applicazioni - University of  Salerno, and then temporary researcher.

Since September 2004 I am Assistant Professor at the Dipartimento di Informatica ed Applicazioni (now Dipartimento di Informatica) - University of  Salerno.

I have been member of the Bioinformatics and Molecular Computing Group (Milano-Bicocca) and of the European Molecular Computing Consortium (EMCC) .
My research concerns Formal Languages, Theory of  (variable length)  Codes and  Molecular Computing.

I am curator of the Scholarperdia web page on Splicing systems (Scholarpedia, 5(7):9397, 2010); Category: Molecular Computing.
